Can I add porta potties for a group attending Festifall at Walnut Grove Plantation?
Festifall is held each October at Walnut Grove Plantation in Roebuck. The site's managers handle restrooms on the festival grounds, so outside units need their approval. A school, church or bus group can instead add 1 or 2 units at its own staging lot or meeting place nearby.
Festifall is listed among the Spartanburg area's annual events. Groups traveling to the festival often meet at a church or school lot first. A unit there helps before and after the bus ride.
- Saturday trip: the unit drops Friday and returns Monday at the one-day price.
- Church lot: get the church's permission and pick a level spot near the parking area.
- Tax-exempt group: send your certificate, and sales tax comes off.

How many porta potties does a backyard wedding in Roebuck need?
A Roebuck backyard wedding of 100 guests over 6 hours with a bar needs 4 units by our planning method: 3 for the guests and 1 for alcohol. Make 1 of the 4 wheelchair-accessible. Deluxe flushing units with inside sinks suit a wedding better than standard units.
| Guests | Hours | With a bar | Suggested mix |
|---|---|---|---|
| 50 | 4 | No | 1 deluxe + 1 accessible |
| 100 | 6 | Yes | 3 deluxe + 1 accessible |
| 150 | 6 | Yes | 4 deluxe + 1 accessible, or a 2-stall trailer |
The alcohol rule is simple: add 1 unit for every 4 in the base count, with a minimum of 1. Place the bank of units near the reception but out of the photos. Deluxe units carry about 20 gallons of fresh water and need no hookups. A restroom trailer is another choice, but the trailer needs a 110-volt, 20-amp outlet and a garden hose. Compare both on our deluxe flushing porta potty page.
Where should a party porta potty go in a Roebuck backyard so it stays fresh?
A party porta potty in a Roebuck backyard works best in shade, on level ground, within about 30 feet of where the service truck parks. Face the door away from the patio and the food. In summer, the average July high of 90.1°F makes shade the biggest odor fix.
Odor at a backyard party comes from heat, sun and a door facing the crowd. Small choices fix most of it:
- ShadePut the unit beside a fence or tree line, not in open sun.
- DistanceKeep the unit off the patio but close enough to find after dark.
- LightA battery lantern outside the door helps evening guests.
- CountOne more unit than you think shortens lines and keeps tanks from filling.

Porta potty questions from Roebuck renters
Can the porta potty go on the side of the house instead of the front in Roebuck?
A side-yard spot works when the service truck can park within about 30 feet of the unit, since that is how far the hose reaches. The ground must be level and firm. Mark the spot with a cone or plywood, and the driver will set the unit there.
For a Roebuck wedding, should we get the flushing kind?
Deluxe flushing units suit a wedding because guests can flush and wash their hands inside. Each one carries about 20 gallons of fresh water and needs no hookups. For a 100-guest wedding of up to 4 hours, pair 2 deluxe units with 1 wheelchair-accessible unit.
How much does it cost to rent porta potties for a Roebuck backyard wedding?
Deluxe flushing event units start at $350 each, standard event units at $225 and wheelchair-accessible units at $305. Each price includes delivery and pickup. SC sales tax is added, and every line shows on the itemized quote.
Can a Festifall church group get one dropped at our church lot in Roebuck?
A unit can go on a church lot with the church's permission. For an October Saturday trip, the unit drops Friday and returns Monday at the one-day price. Tax-exempt churches can send their certificate so sales tax comes off the invoice.
