Where to put a porta potty

6 quick checks so the unit lands in the right spot.

Check 1

Within 30 ft of the truck

The service hose reaches about 30 ft. Keep the unit near a driveway or street edge.

Check 2

Level, firm ground

Concrete, gravel or flat, dry lawn. A unit on soft or sloped ground can lean or tip.

Check 3

Measure the gate

A standard unit is about 44 in wide. The gate must open wider than that.

Check 4

Look up, look down

Clear wires and low limbs above the 90 in roof. Keep the truck and unit off the septic drain field.

Check 5

Face the door away

Point the door away from the street, neighbors and food tables.

Check 6

Mark the spot

Use a cone, plywood or a stake with tape. Nobody needs to be home for delivery.
